SCEL Instant Ticket Validation Issue Resolved
11/14/2008 4:29:40 PM

COLUMBIA, SC (November 14, 2008) - A communication error between vendors of the South Carolina Education Lottery (SCEL) resulted in a limited number of instant tickets being incorrectly validated by the gaming system from November 5 through November 13, 2008. The issue has been corrected. Online tickets (Pick 3, Pick 4, Palmetto Cash 5, MegaMatch 6SM and Powerball™) were not affected.

"We regret any inconvenience to our players and retailers. Ticket holders with questions or concerns should contact the Lottery. Each winning ticket presented will be honored," said Ernie Passailaigue, SCEL's Executive Director.

Players who believe a ticket may have been incorrectly validated since November 5, 2008, are encouraged to: (1) take their ticket(s) to one of SCEL's Regional Claims Centers; (2) mail their ticket(s) to SCEL; or (3) call 1 866-736-9819 during regular business hours for assistance.
