SC LOTTERY PLAYERS ENJOY LONG WINNING STREAK

COLUMBIA, SC (May 23, 2008) – South Carolina Education Lottery (SCEL) players are benefiting from an impressive streak of winnings and big payouts!
The lucky run began May 14 when triple 9’s were drawn in the midday Pick 3 drawing. The payout for players in that drawing was $713,750!
The next big win happened on the Friday, May 16 evening Palmetto Cash 5 drawing. One player matched all five numbers resulting in winnings of $100,000. The winning ticket was sold at Dhruv Corporation, in Peidmont. The winning numbers for Palmetto Cash 5 were: 3, 9, 14, 27, and 38. The Power-Up multiplier was 5.
Triple 3’s were draw in the evening Pick 3 drawing on Saturday, May 17, resulting in a payout to players of approximately $838,000!
The May 17 Powerball® drawing proved the largest prize for a South Carolina player when
19-year-old Jonathan Vargas, of Gaston, hit the $35.3 million jackpot! Another Powerball® ticket holder purchased a winning ticket in Honea Path that was worth $600,000. The player opted for PowerPlay® and correctly matched all five white ball numbers but missed the red Powerball number but had purchased the PowerPlay®. The winning numbers in the Powerball® drawing were 12, 14, 15, 21, and 43. The Powerball® was 30 and the PowerPlay® multiplier was 3. Thousands of players in S.C. won prizes from $3 up to the jackpot!
