Winner “It’s a good gift for my birthday,” said Laxman Charpe, of West Columbia, after winning $1,000 playing Carolina Millionaires Club. He plans to celebrate both the lottery win and his birthday with family. Charpe purchased his ticket from Quick Stop in Springdale.
 
Winner “I screamed for about ten minutes,” said Hope Willis after scratching her $100,000 Club instant ticket. A resident of Johnsonville, Willis won $1,000 and plans to give some money to her church and share some with her husband. She purchased the ticket from Piggly Wiggly #93 in Johnsonville. Willis believes the Lottery’s support of education helps children who otherwise could not afford an education.
 
Winner N. Deems Knight, of Chapin, was pleased to discover he had won $600 playing Palmetto Cash 5. He plans to pay bills with his winnings. Knight bought his lucky ticket from Mr. J’s in Chapin.
 
Winner The first person Deborah Kirby, of Aiken, told when she won $40,000 playing Powerball® was her husband. She plans to take a cruise with her winnings. Kirby purchased her winning ticket from Bi-Lo #558 in Batesburg/Leesville. Kirby feels the Lottery’s support of education is a great idea. “Education is the most important gift in the world,” said Kirby.
