From the Executive Office:

Welcome to the South Carolina Education Lottery's (SCEL) website. Whether you wish to check last night's winning numbers or just want to learn more about how lottery proceeds are at work in your community, we are glad you are visiting. We hope you find sceducationlottery.com to be an informative and user friendly resource.

This site was designed with you in mind, and we want to make sure it meets your expectations and user needs. We invite you to share your thoughts, both positive and constructive. Your feedback is valuable. In fact, many of the features you see on the website today are a direct result of recommendations received from visitors to this site.

The South Carolina Lottery Commission was created as an instrument of the State with powers comparable to those exercised by commissions engaged in entrepreneurial pursuits.

The legislation that created the South Carolina Education Lottery established a nine-member governing board for staggered three-year terms. Three commissioners each are appointed by the Governor, the President Pro Tempore of the Senate, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

SCEL has a staff of approximately 119 employees who make up nine departments including Executive Office; Audit Services; Internal Operations; Information Technology; Sales and Retailer Relations; Marketing and Product Development; Security; Legal Services; and Finance. The Internal Auditor reports directly to the South Carolina Lottery Commission. All employees of the Lottery serve at-will and are not covered by the State Employee Grievance Procedures Act.

The South Carolina Education Lottery covers three regional areas (Midlands, Coastal, and Upstate).  A field staff of approximately 48 employees provides service to a network of more than 3,800 retailers who are licensed to sell lottery products.  Winning amounts up to and including $500 may be redeemed at any retailer location.  Players may redeem winning tickets by mail at the address on the ticket back or at the Lottery Claims Center located on Assembly Street in Columbia.  Winning amounts over $100,000 must be claimed in person.  For Claims Center information, click here.

Again, welcome to our website! Thank you for being “here” and enjoy your visit.
